As previously announced (September 2023), MSF has created a fellowship program in Computational Biology focused on t(4;14) multiple myeloma (MM). As part of the MSF commitment to advance our knowledge of the biology of t(4;14) MM and to inform new therapies for patients, these post-doc/fellowships offer additional support for recipients of MSF-sponsored research grants while providing the training to help address the need for research faculty focused on computational biology in MM.
In addition to the Sylvester Cancer Center at the University of Miami, MSF is adding The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and NYU Langone Health as the inaugural institutions to guide the Computational Biology Fellowship Program in MM.
The recipients of these 3-year fellowships are under the mentorship of experts in MM Translational Medicine and Computational Biology. Drs. Gareth Morgan and Aristotelis Tsirigos will serve as mentors at NYU Langone Health while Drs. Bob Orlowski and Linghua Wang will provide mentorship at MD Anderson. In addition to the work guided by their mentors, the computational biology post-doc/fellows will also work collaboratively with other MSF-funded research sites and particularly with other MSF-sponsored post-doc/fellows.
